A Younger You

Light travels at the speed of 186,000 miles per second. Were it possible to see yourself in a mirror that was 186,000 miles away, it would take two seconds for the light from your face to travel to the mirror and back to your eyes.

By extension, since it has to take SOME time for light to span a few feet, anytime you look at yourself in the mirror, you're seeing a "younger you."

I told that story to my aunt recently, hoping it would cheer her up. It didn't work.

She said, "You mean to tell me that whenever I look at myself in the mirror, I'm actually OLDER than the image I see?!?"
